Chimamanda Adichie Nominated for Bailey’s Women’s Prize for Fiction

Nigerian ace writer with multiple awards and nomination has been nominated for the 2014 edition of the Bailey’s Women’s Prize for fiction. The award formerly known as the Orange Prize regarded as UK’s Most prestigious award for female fiction novelists is awarded to the best female novel  author from any nationality.

Adiche who won the award in 2007 with “Half a yellow Sun,” was earlier in the year nominated for the National Book Critique Award, 2013 and is the only African on the list of 6 shortlist.

The award ceremony will take place in London on June 4th. The winner will be presented with a £30,000/$50,000 cheque as well as a limited edition bronze statue.
