Application is now opened for the maiden edition of Nigeria Independence Speech Contest 2014 (NISCON14). This contest with the theme “The Nigerian Dream & Roles of Youths in building a new Nigeria” has been designed to bring together young Nigerians from different tertiary institutions to air their views about the state of the nation as well as to voice their opinions on pressing national issues with a view to ascertaining the ways-forward and proffering lasting solutions.
This contest provides a unique platform for young emerging leaders to find their voice, to speak and be heard as maiden edition of Nigeria Independence Speech Contest 2014 (NISCON14) has been strategically planned to annually hold within the month of October which marks the country’s month of Independence. In this contest, youths will, through their written and oral words, determine the problems that we face as a nation, critically analyze these problems and present strategic solutions to an audience of academics, entrepreneurs, millennia’s, government representatives, venture capitalist as well as other young leaders.

After the screening stage from the online application process, finalists will be shortlisted and contacted to make their oral presentation at the NISCON Grand Finale where Fantastic Prizes will be won. This contest holds as follow:
DATE: Thursday, 30th October, 2014
TIME: 10:00am Prompt
VENUE: MBA Hall, Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko, Ondo State, Nigeria.

To be eligible for this contest, you must;
– be a Nigerian citizen
– be an undergraduate student in any Nigerian tertiary institution
– be between the ages of 16 and 25
– have a vast knowledge about Nigeria
– be passionate about nation building
– have very good written and oral communication skills
– be ready to make a difference

This contest is being organized by the Ambassadors of Africa; a youth led organization with the aim of building Africans into global giants through various life changing programs with outstanding positive impacts on the individuals, communities, Africa and the world at large. This organization has positively imparted thousands high school students through it’s “A-Students”
Project, and tertiary institution students through Project BrainStorm as well as reached out to the needy, orphans, disabled, indigents through it’s charity arm called The EmpaGems (..rare gems showing empathy). The Ambassadors of Africa also organised the United Nations approved International Youth Day Programme on the 12th of August 2014.
