Generational Voices(GenVoices), is an ambitious project to announce our generation’s decision to play an active role in forging the political and social destiny of Nigeria. GenVoices Ogun State Chapter is organizing a summit to engage youth and students voters ahead of the upcoming 2015 Nigerian General Elections.

The summit that focuses on youths and students’ participation in 2015 elections, is geared towards the emergence of credible leaders.

With the theme ‘Nigeria’s 2015 Elections: Engaging Voters In Ogun State‘, the proposed event goes beyond an interaction as Ogun GenVoices is ready to make her demands known and call political representatives in all zones of the state to order.

The idea of GENTALKS 2015 is to begin to build articulate, brilliant and energetic young Nigerians to embrace radical change and innovation in preparation for the 2015 general elections. We are also going to discuss strategies to educate voters on the electoral process, increase participation among traditionally under represented groups – women, youth, rural voters – and ensure the overall safety and integrity of the vote in 2015.

This discourse part of an ongoing series by Generational Voices Ogun State Chapter, bringing Ogun State Youth, Students & Civil Society Activists, and Opinion Leaders to Ogun State, Nigeria to engage with the policy makers and political leaders on how best to ensure the success of Nigeria’s 2015 elections particularly in Ogun State.

Our superior concern is building a generation that can rise to the inclusion of capable young people in key roles of participation within a minimum of 30% representation in the Government Sector. We are birthing social, technological, economic and political solutions to national challenges by our generation and to be handed over to generations to come. We are building a generation that is ready to lead and serve Nigeria.

Activities in line for the event include:

  • Voters’ sensitization
  • Youth involvement in politics
  • Communique
  • Topical discussion on;
    — How to manage your mandate (vote)
    — Party or no party membership
